A. Demons for all practical purposes are persons without bodies. They demonstrate all the characteristics of personality with 1 exception. They do not have a physical body. However, they do have all the normally accepted marks of personality (1) Will (2) Emotions (3) Intellect (4) Self-Awareness (5) Ability to speak. They intensely desire to inhabit a live human body. If they cannot enter a human body, they will take up residence in the body of an animal but, it is not their 1st choice. One of Satan’s most closely guarded secrets is that he does not want the existence of his minions (demons) to be disclosed. They do most of their damage behind the lines in their hidden capacity.
B. Why are they in and working through humans? Because they have a legal right to be there through sins, curses, ungodly soul ties, a weakened moment, and lack of a spiritual covering-as in a father not praying for or defending his wife and children—usually out of ignorance or laziness.
C. What do they do in our lives? Demons entice, harass, torture, compel, enslave, cause addictions, defile, deceive, and attack the physical body.
D. How do we get rid of them? (1) Become informed about their ways and means-know your enemy (2) Stop sinning and confess all known sin (3) Repent from your heart by turning 180 degrees and changing your mind, attitudes and actions (4) Forgive any person who has ever hurt or harmed you in any way (5) Stop all occult practices and confess them as sin (6) Break all curses (7) Break all ungodly soul ties (8) Come out of agreement with all demonic lies and deceptions (9) Exercise the Power and Authority you have from the Word of God against the demons in the Matchless Name of JESUS (10) You must set your will against all that they have established in your life in the form of lies, deceptions and habits. REMEMBER, these demons have spent many long years setting up strongholds in your soul and body and they do not relish the idea of loosing their happy home. Aggressive warfare is imperative if you want to kick them out. (11) Come into agreement with all that the Word of God says about what the Blood of Jesus does for you (12) PROCLAIM IT OUT LOUD FREQUENTLY AND AGGRESSIVELY!! AND REMIND THEM OF THEIR ETERNAL DESTENY IN THE BURNING LAKE OF FIRE. (13) Keep in mind that willful resistance and refusal on your part are very effective weapons against the enemy any time he approaches you in thought, word or deed. You want to shut him down immediately and you do it with a decision of your will. Your will is very powerful!! (14) TO SIMPLFY: Spiritual Warfare basically consists of your will agreeing with God’s words and those words coming out of your mouth against the enemy UNTIL you defeat him!!!.
E. How do I take back the ground in my life that the enemy presently has under his control? It usually happens little by little but the Lord is not dependant on us and does things on His own time table. He can do a quick work. Go on the offensive—take back an area---defend it---strengthen it---live on the retaken ground. As the Lord leads, go on the offensive again and take more ground back from the enemy. Defend, strengthen, live on it and then repeat the cycle all over again. Keep cleaning out your house (soul and body) as the Holy Spirit reveals more and more. It’s a process.
F. Why do I need deliverance—what is the real purpose? The real purpose is to get free in all areas so that you can begin to serve God in the way that He had planned for you all along. Demons keep you blinded to God’s plans for your life and they steal, kill and destroy every time they can. Your Father God has important work for you to do in His Church and He planned it for you even before the world began. He’s been waiting for you awhile. It’s time to get on with it but unless you fight, defeat and evict your enemies you will remain useless in the Kingdom of God like breathing through a spiritual straw. When you really have to do some serious stuff you will be seriously restricted and bound up. So, the only real and primary reason God gives you mercy, power and authority from His Word to defeat the enemy is not to do your own thing but to do God’s things!!!!!! Win souls and make diciples.
G. If I go back to my rebellion, sins, lies, deceptions and ungodly soul ties etc, what will happen? You could more than likely get reinfested with demons. God will release the tormentors back on you, not because He desires it but BECAUSE YOU HAVE ALLOWED THEM BY LEGAL PERMISSION WITH YOUR ACTIONS AND THINKING TO COME BACK. YOU MAY HAVE ALSO COME BACK INTO AGREEMENT WITH THEIR LIES AND DECEPTIONS. Romans 11:22 “Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but towards you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.” Why would you want to reopen the door to attack and more trouble in your life all over again?
